General Manager – Food‑led Pub with Boutique Rooms

About the role

We are seeking an energetic hospitality leader to manage a high‑volume, food‑focused pub with boutique rooms in Margate, Kent. The General Manager will own day‑to‑day operations, ensuring top‑class food, drink and accommodation experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Full P&L accountability, including sales, labour, gross profit and overall profitability.
• Lead, motivate and develop front‑of‑house and kitchen teams.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences across the bar, restaurant and boutique accommodation.
• Manage stock control, cost management and maintain strong profit margins.
• Oversee recruitment, training, coaching and retention of a high‑performing team.
• Drive operational excellence during busy trading periods and build the venue’s reputation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a General Manager or Operations Manager in a high‑volume hospitality setting.
• Strong background in food and beverage, preferably within a premium pub, restaurant or boutique hotel.
• Commercial awareness with ability to manage labour costs, gross profit and overall business performance.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and lead busy weekend services.
• Passion for delivering outstanding customer service and developing teams.
