Graduate Fluid Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Join Airbus’s two‑year Global Graduate Programme as a Graduate Fluid Mechanical Design Engineer in the Bristol area. You will be immersed in the design and development of fluid‑mechanical test rigs that support landing‑gear and fuel‑system testing for new aircraft programmes, while receiving structured leadership and technical training.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and development of new fluid‑mechanical test rigs, from requirements capture through detailed design, manufacturing, integration and validation.
• Use CATIA V5 to create 3D models and drawings, and work with technologies such as fibre optics, vacuum systems, pitch/roll tables and instrumentation for pressure, flow, vibration and temperature measurement.
• Gain hands‑on experience in non‑office environments, handling jet fuel, hydraulic fluids, high‑voltage equipment and noisy conditions.
• Complete at least one rotational placement within the System Integration Test department, exposing you to software development, avionic testing, flight‑test analysis and facility operations.

Required profile

• A degree (or equivalent) in Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Recent graduate or limited professional experience in fluid‑mechanical design.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom without the need for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
