Graduate Software Engineer (Air)

About the role

As a Graduate Air Software Engineer you will develop cutting‑edge software for BAE Systems' aerospace platforms, taking part in the full product lifecycle from concept through design, development, delivery and in‑service maintenance. You will work on highly complex, real‑time, safety‑critical and mission‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and review system requirements, producing high‑level and low‑level software designs.
• Implement software, update existing code, develop new code and merge updates into new baselines.
• Conduct unit and integration testing (white‑box) and hardware/software qualification testing (black‑box).
• Support software certification activities, including documentation, defect investigation and resolution.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and adhere to rigorous engineering standards.
• Willingness to obtain necessary security and export‑control clearances.
