Graduate Teaching Assistant – Chelmsford

About the role

TeacherActive is recruiting enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistants to support schools in Chelmsford and surrounding areas. This role offers recent graduates valuable classroom experience and a pathway towards a career in education.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting teachers with lessons and classroom activities.
• Helping pupils understand tasks and stay engaged.
• Providing additional support to pupils who are struggling academically.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs where required.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Preparing classroom resources and supporting lesson delivery.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other education professionals.

Required profile

• University degree in any subject.
• Interest in a future career in teaching or education.
• Enthusiastic, reliable and eager to gain classroom experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Patience, adaptability and teamwork orientation.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
