Graduate Teaching Assistant – English Graduate (Croydon)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic English graduates to join secondary schools across Croydon as Graduate Teaching Assistants. This full‑time, school‑based position starts in September 2026 and offers hands‑on experience supporting literacy development and classroom practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students in Key Stages 3‑5.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management and behaviour support.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs (SEND) where required.
• Help prepare and deliver resources that develop reading, writing and comprehension skills.

Required profile

• A degree in English or a closely related subject.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Genuine interest in education, literacy and young people’s development.
• Proactive, reliable and professional attitude.
