Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the role

This Graduate Teaching Assistant role offers a full‑time, year‑long placement in a welcoming primary school in Lewisham. It is designed for recent graduates who want hands‑on classroom experience before entering teacher training.

Key responsibilities

• Support class teachers during lessons, small‑group work and one‑to‑one sessions.
• Assist pupils across KS1 and KS2 with maths, English, reading, writing, phonics and interventions.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and provide support for pupils with SEN or additional needs.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.

Required profile

• Degree holder or final‑year student.
• Genuine interest in becoming a teacher.
• Confident working with primary‑age children.
• Strong communication and professional attitude.
• Reliable, proactive and able to build positive relationships.
