Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Westminster

About the role

The Graduate Teaching Assistant role supports a vibrant primary school in Westminster, offering hands‑on classroom experience from September 2026 to July 2027. Working closely with class teachers and SEN staff, you will help deliver inclusive learning for pupils across KS1 and KS2 while gaining valuable insight into the teaching profession.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary age range (KS1 and KS2) in daily classroom activities.
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and phonics interventions.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for children with additional learning needs.
• Help teachers create engaging, inclusive lessons and classroom resources.
• Contribute to pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and proactive attitude towards supporting children’s learning.
• Passion for education and a desire to develop teaching skills.
• Experience working with children through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, childcare or volunteering (preferred).
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
