Group Architect – eCommerce

About the role

ARCA Consulting is partnering with a leading UK eCommerce company to find a Group Architect (eCommerce). You will shape the technology strategy for a large‑scale, cross‑channel business that serves millions of customers, driving architecture decisions that enable exceptional digital experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the architecture vision, roadmap and target state for the customer and omnichannel domain.
• Guide technology direction across digital commerce, mobile, customer identity, CRM, fulfilment and engagement platforms.
• Collaborate with senior technology leaders, product teams and business stakeholders to align architecture with strategy and transformation programmes.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Solution Architects, ensuring governance, technical leadership and architectural assurance.
• Ensure solution designs are scalable, secure, resilient and compliant with enterprise architecture principles.
• Drive simplification, reduce technical debt and increase reuse across platforms.
• Provide architectural governance through design reviews and decision processes.
• Evaluate emerging SaaS and AI‑enabled technologies to support future growth.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in Enterprise, Group, Domain or Solution Architecture.
• Proven track record leading architecture for large eCommerce or omnichannel organisations.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leadership.
• Strategic thinker with a passion for customer experience and digital transformation.
