Group Financial Controller – Hybrid – Surrey

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will lead the finance function for a fast‑growing wealth management firm. Based in Surrey, the role operates on a hybrid model (two days in the office per week) and is responsible for financial control, month‑end and year‑end close, statutory reporting and audit preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end and year‑end close timetable, ensuring deadlines, dependencies and high‑quality outputs.
• Maintain ledger accuracy, journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and cut‑off judgments.
• Own the balance‑sheet control framework, preparing and reviewing key reconciliations.
• Implement and monitor strong financial controls across the finance function and wider business.
• Provide reliable financial information to support reporting, planning and decision‑making.
• Oversee year‑end statutory accounts preparation, audit coordination and delivery of audit‑ready schedules.

Required profile

• Fully‑qualified accountant (ACA preferred; ACCA or CIMA also considered).
• At least 5 years of experience in a financial controller or equivalent role, preferably within financial services.
• Minimum 3 years of team‑management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
