Group Head of Facilities

About the role

The Group Head of Facilities will establish and lead a new facilities function for a fast‑growing professional services organisation with sites across the Midlands and Scotland. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the role will own the strategy, standards and governance needed to support a multi‑site business expanding through acquisitions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Group‑wide facilities strategy from scratch.
• Build and scale a dedicated facilities team, defining recruitment and organisational structure.
• Create centralised processes, governance and efficiencies across fragmented site operations.
• Lead both hard and soft facilities management across multiple locations, including office moves, refurbishments, fit‑outs and workplace improvement projects.
• Manage supplier relationships, procurement and service contracts, overseeing budgets and capital expenditure.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and other statutory requirements.
• Support integration of newly acquired offices, assessing leases and aligning facilities services.

Required profile

• Proven experience building a corporate head‑office facilities function, preferably in a professional services or regulated, fee‑earning environment.
• Demonstrated ability to scale facilities operations during periods of acquisition‑driven growth.
• Strategic mindset treating the workplace as a core asset, with a track record of delivering employee‑experience, hybrid‑working and sustainability initiatives.
• Strong leadership and change‑management skills, capable of establishing policies, technology platforms and supplier networks from the ground up.
