Group Reporting Accountant

About the role

Altum Consulting is partnering with a global maritime business to hire a technically strong Group Reporting Accountant on an initial six‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The role sits within the Group Finance team and is responsible for the end‑to‑end consolidation and statutory reporting process.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual group consolidation and reporting cycles, preparing consolidated financial statements, management accounts and board packs under FRS 102 and IFRS.
• Execute intercompany eliminations, foreign‑currency translation and reporting pack submissions for subsidiaries and international entities.
• Provide technical accounting advice on revenue recognition, lease accounting, foreign currency, business combinations and the application of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and IFRS.
• Draft, maintain and implement group accounting policies, technical papers and accounting memos.
• Prepare statutory accounts for the parent company and key UK entities, including disclosures, reconciliations and going‑concern assessments.
• Manage the year‑end external audit process, acting as the primary contact for auditors and coordinating evidence across jurisdictions.
• Maintain and enhance the group financial controls framework, identifying and remediating weaknesses.
• Support tax reporting by supplying accurate financial data for corporation tax, transfer pricing and related compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement across the group reporting process.

Required profile

• ACA‑qualified accountant with a strong audit background.
• Proven experience in group reporting and consolidation within a multinational environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage statutory reporting and audit processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
