Gym General Manager

About the role

This full‑time position leads the day‑to‑day operations of a fitness club, overseeing sales, service and overall member experience. You will set high standards, drive revenue streams and ensure every member receives an exceptional visit.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and develop a high‑performing team, providing regular feedback.
• Own membership growth, secondary spend and all revenue streams to maximise profitability.
• Lead by example on the gym floor and reception, delivering a personalised experience.
• Maintain operational processes to the highest standard on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Uphold cleanliness, presentation and safety standards at all times.
• Promote national campaigns and engage the team in brand initiatives.
• Resolve challenges with resilience, agility and a solutions‑driven mindset.
• Oversee compliance with health & safety policies and pool plant operations.

Required profile

• Passion for health, fitness and wellness.
• Minimum 1 year management experience in the fitness industry.
• Strong leadership with adaptable communication style.
• Member‑first mindset and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Commercial awareness and drive to deliver results.
• Positive, resilient and fearless approach.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
