Gyms Duty Manager

About the role

JD Gyms is looking for a Duty Manager for its club in Bradford. The role supports the day-to-day operation of the club, helps maintain high operational standards and ensures members receive a safe, welcoming and positive experience. Working closely with the wider management team, the Duty Manager contributes to membership and commercial objectives while keeping the club efficient, safe and in line with JD Gyms standards.

Key responsibilities

• Run the day-to-day operations of the club, including opening and closing duties where required
• Work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, in line with business needs
• Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Employee Policy and the Company Procedures Handbook, and uphold the JD Gyms Brand Standard
• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly safety checks, report defects and chase them until resolved so the building and equipment stay safe
• Support membership, revenue and commercial objectives, and identify opportunities to grow secondary revenue streams
• Keep the facility clean and support General Assistants in maintaining cleanliness across the club
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards across the team
• Deliver outstanding member service and help create a positive, supportive environment for colleagues and contracted personnel
• Undertake other reasonable duties, projects or meetings as required, and represent JD Gyms values in all interactions

Required profile

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues in a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment
• Ability to support, coach and develop colleagues
• Contribution to membership growth, commercial performance, local marketing initiatives and team development
• Experience supporting operational delivery, people leadership and commercial performance in a leisure or customer-focused setting
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor
