Hardware Technician – ECU & Power Pack Testing

About the role

The Hardware Technician will support Bosch’s development of electronic control units (ECU) and Power Pack systems by performing electrical and environmental testing, assembling prototypes, and maintaining the test laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble prototype ECUs and Power Packs for steering gear applications.
• Modify prototype ECUs and perform functional testing.
• Analyze defective units and test results to identify failure causes.
• Build wire harnesses, test boxes and splices required for connecting ECUs to test equipment.
• Execute E/E tests such as ESD, ISO impulse, cranking and voltage‑drop measurements.
• Read test schedules, manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics to determine procedures.
• Coordinate test and validation tasks and document results in test reports.
• Order parts, set up and commission test‑lab equipment, and develop measurement procedures for Power Pack commissioning.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in electronic hardware testing or prototype construction.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
