Head of Asset Management (Interim)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Asset Management on a six‑month interim basis to lead critical projects and teams within the council. This senior position will drive the implementation of new systems, ensure statutory compliance, and improve operational efficiency across building services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project to implement a new database for Building Services and Asset Management.
• Develop and enforce robust statutory compliance processes.
• Oversee procurement exercises for the department.
• Manage the Building Services, Garages, and Asset Data teams.
• Apply commercial building expertise to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in building services management, preferably within local government.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance related to building and asset management.
• Experience in procurement and contract management.
• Current driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle for business use.
