Head of Build – Lead Fit‑out & Refurbishment Projects

About the role

As Head of Build you will own the Build and Maintenance divisions, ensuring projects across the North of England are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest standards. Based in Leeds, you will work closely with Design, Operations, Commercial and Senior Leadership teams to translate strategy into successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple fit‑out, refurbishment and maintenance projects from mobilisation through to handover.
• Manage site teams, maintenance engineers, subcontractors and delivery partners.
• Oversee budgets, resource planning, labour utilisation and commercial performance.
• Collaborate with estimating and commercial teams on pricing, tender submissions and future opportunities.
• Build strong client relationships and act as senior point of contact throughout project delivery.

Required profile

• Proven senior delivery or contracts management experience in commercial fit‑out, interiors or refurbishment.
• Track record delivering projects valued from £500k to multi‑million‑pound programmes.
• Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets, margins and operational performance.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams including site managers, engineers and subcontractors.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
