Head of Capital

About the role

Edenbrook is partnering with a leading specialty insurer in the Lloyd's market to recruit a Head of Capital. This senior position will lead the capital modelling function, ensuring the internal model remains robust, compliant and aligned with business strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Capital team, handling resource planning, performance management and staff development.
• Maintain, enhance and validate the internal capital model, guaranteeing its fitness for purpose.
• Produce capital modelling outputs and regulatory reports such as SCR, ORSA, reserve ranges and risk distributions within set deadlines.
• Collaborate with underwriting, pricing, reserving, finance, claims, reinsurance and risk teams to support capital‑related decision making.
• Present capital insights and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees.
• Maintain model documentation, governance frameworks and change‑control processes.
• Conduct annual peer reviews of best‑estimate reserves to ensure consistency with model assumptions.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Lloyd's capital requirements and regulatory processes.
• At least three years of senior‑level experience in capital modelling.
• University degree and/or relevant professional qualification (e.g., FIA or equivalent).
• Proven experience presenting to boards and senior executives.
