Head of Childcare Law – Senior Solicitor

About the role

This senior position leads the firm’s Childcare department, overseeing a busy caseload and providing high‑quality advocacy for public and private childcare matters. You will work closely with senior leadership, mentor a legal assistant and help grow the practice commercially.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Childcare department.
• Manage a varied childcare caseload and represent clients in advocacy.
• Handle public and private childcare matters, including guardian referrals.
• Support and mentor a Legal Assistant.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on commercial growth.
• Deliver outstanding client care with autonomy.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor status.
• Strong experience in childcare law.
• Child Panel Accreditation.
• Excellent advocacy and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and leadership experience.
• Collaborative and mentoring approach.
