Head of Corporate Communications & External Affairs

About the role

Highland Spring Group is seeking a senior leader to shape and deliver its corporate communications and external affairs agenda. Working 3‑4 days a week from the Blackford site in Scotland, you will report directly to the Managing Director and collaborate with the Executive Team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the external affairs and corporate communications strategy aligned with business priorities and brand objectives.
• Strengthen the company’s reputation across corporate, political, media, industry and stakeholder audiences.
• Build and maintain relationships with Scottish and UK government officials, MPs, MSPs, regulators, trade associations, industry bodies and community groups.
• Represent Highland Spring in external forums, advocating on policy areas such as the Deposit Return Scheme, packaging, recycling, environmental regulation, water stewardship and sustainability.
• Shape compelling corporate narratives around market leadership, sustainability commitments and health benefits of natural source water.
• Provide trusted counsel to senior leaders, identify external opportunities, manage reputational risk and respond to sensitive issues.

Required profile

• Politically and commercially astute with a calm demeanor under pressure.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships across government, industry, media, community and internal audiences.
• Senior‑level experience in corporate communications, public affairs or related fields.
• Strategic thinker comfortable with high visibility and cross‑functional collaboration.
