Head of Department – Housing Disrepair Litigation Solicitor

About the role

Lead a dedicated team of litigators specialising in pre‑ and post‑litigated housing disrepair matters at a L500‑listed firm in the heart of Liverpool. You will mentor junior colleagues, shape departmental strategy and ensure high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage team capacity and distribute workloads evenly.
• Conduct regular 1‑2‑1s and team meetings to develop and motivate staff.
• Maintain a consistently high level of service and client care.
• Act as an ambassador for the firm’s values and culture.
• Meet deadlines, targets and prioritise a varied caseload.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
• Demonstrable expertise in housing disrepair and civil litigation.
• Proven experience leading and supervising a litigation team.
• Target‑driven with strong client‑care focus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
