Head of Digital Strategy & Investment

About the role

The Head of Digital Strategy & Investment will shape and deliver large‑scale digital transformation for one of the UK’s biggest healthcare providers. Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Programmes, you will oversee a portfolio of digital initiatives, ensuring they align with strategic priorities and generate measurable benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and quality assurance of digital business cases, ensuring value for money.
• Oversee a transparent, evidence‑based digital programme prioritisation process.
• Maintain and evolve the Digital Services Roadmap, reflecting organisational priorities, dependencies and capacity.
• Establish and manage a Benefits Register, tracking definition, realisation and outcomes.
• Monitor delivery of Cost Improvement Plans linked to digital investment.
• Provide strategic advice and assurance to senior leadership and governance forums.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing Strategy & Investment team.
• Deputise for the Associate Director of Programmes when required.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in digital strategy and investment, preferably within healthcare.
• Proven ability to manage complex portfolios and drive benefits realisation.
• Strong governance and stakeholder‑management skills in fast‑paced environments.
• Experience leading high‑performing teams and influencing organisational priorities.
