Head of Facilities & Building Compliance

About the role
The Head of Facilities & Building Compliance will lead the strategic and operational management of facilities across the Buzzworks estate. This senior role ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal performance of all venues while supporting the company’s rapid growth and new openings.
Key responsibilities
- Lead facilities and building compliance across all Buzzworks venues.
- Develop and deliver a long‑term maintenance and asset management strategy.
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance programmes for the entire estate.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, gas, electrical, legionella, asbestos and health & safety regulations.
- Implement modern facilities systems and digital compliance platforms.
- Introduce reporting dashboards and audit frameworks for real‑time estate visibility.
- Support new venue openings and acquisitions, guaranteeing operational readiness from day one.
- Shape facilities structures for venues with rooms and accommodation‑led operations.
- Lead, develop and motivate the maintenance and facilities team.
- Manage contractor relationships, service standards and maintenance budgets.
- Drive continuous improvement through smarter planning, reporting and operational processes.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience in facilities management, preferably within hospitality or multi‑venue environments.
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance areas such as fire safety, gas, electrical, legionella, asbestos and health & safety.
- Track record of creating and executing long‑term maintenance and asset strategies.
- Ability to manage budgets, contractors and large‑scale projects.
- Experience driving digital transformation of facilities processes.
Required skills
- In‑depth understanding of building compliance regulations.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programmes.
- Ability to implement and manage digital compliance platforms.
- Proficiency in reporting/dashboard tools for facilities data.
- Strong contractor and budget management capabilities.
