Head of Finance

About the role

This is a senior finance position within a private‑equity‑backed product business based in Lancashire. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee the full spectrum of financial management, from accounts to commercial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the management accounts process and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Maintain robust financial controls, audit and tax compliance.
• Prepare and update 13‑week cash‑flow forecasts.
• Analyse ROI across marketing, product development and other functions.
• Support the CFO and private‑equity investors with strategic financial insights.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) – qualification is essential.
• Experience in a product‑based business (manufacturing, retail, logistics, FMCG, e‑commerce) with multiple distribution channels.
• Strong curiosity and ability to dive deep into commercial performance.
• Proven ability to work in a small, tight‑knit team and deliver results.
