Head of Finance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, commercially‑minded Head of Finance to lead the finance function of a fast‑growing pharmaceutical business in Watford. This senior position will provide strategic financial insight, ensure robust controls and support the wider organisation with accurate reporting and cash management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and management accounts.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts with detailed performance analysis.
• Produce accurate financial reports for the US Group Head Office, meeting group reporting deadlines.
• Support group consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and foreign exchange exposure, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements and internal policies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the UK and US and manage relationships with external advisers and auditors.
• Develop and mentor members of the finance team.

Required profile

• Significant experience in senior finance roles within a corporate environment.
• Commercially‑driven with a proven ability to provide strategic financial advice.
• Experience working in an international, group‑structured organisation.
• Strong understanding of UK finance regulations and group reporting requirements.
