Head of Finance & Resources

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance & Resources for a Not‑for‑Profit organisation based in Sevenoaks. This six‑month contract reports to the Chief Executive and sits on the Senior Leadership Team, overseeing finance, resources and payroll functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Prepare management, statutory and financial reports for senior leaders and trustees.
• Monitor financial performance, identify risks and recommend actions to ensure long‑term sustainability.
• Manage cash‑flow, treasury activities, funding arrangements and relationships with auditors, banks and service providers.
• Oversee the finance team, providing guidance and support.
• Administer payroll processes.
• Contribute to senior leadership discussions shaping organisational strategy.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIPFA).
• Extensive experience in the Not‑for‑Profit sector, familiar with housing associations, charities or educational institutions.
• Proven experience at Head of Finance level, with senior leadership and commercial strategy exposure.
• Experience managing small finance teams.
• Calm, level‑headed with strong stakeholder management.
• Available to start by 10 August.
