Head of Insurance Investment Accounting – EMEA

About the role

Join Northern Trust as the Head of Insurance Investment Accounting for the EMEA region, leading the localisation and expansion of our insurance investment accounting product for the UK market. You will shape a modern, scalable solution that meets the regulatory and reporting needs of UK insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product localisation and development to ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS (including IFRS 17), Solvency II and SORP.
• Collaborate with Sales to acquire and onboard the launch beta client, presenting the UK‑specific value proposition.
• Design and refine the operational model for investment accounting, covering reconciliations, month‑end close and data integration.
• Produce UK‑compliant client reporting such as P&L, trial balances and regulatory disclosures.
• Work cross‑functionally with Operations, Client Servicing and Product Management to deliver seamless support.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in insurance investment accounting and regulatory reporting.
• Deep knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, IFRS 17, Solvency II and SORP.
• Proven ability to lead product localisation projects and engage with senior clients.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
