Head of Legal

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Legal to serve as PiklPikl’s principal legal advisor. The role combines in‑house legal counsel with company secretarial duties, supporting both the business and the Board in a fast‑growing insurance‑enabled marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier, partnership, platform, insurance, NDA and vendor agreements.
• Oversee contract governance, ensuring proper authorisation, recording and policy compliance.
• Identify, flag and mitigate legal and commercial risk, escalating material issues to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain contract templates, playbooks and precedent documents for consistency.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice on commercial, regulatory, employment and general matters.
• Coordinate legal matters across departments and manage relationships with external law firms.
• Support new product launches and partnerships with legal structuring and documentation.
• Prepare board packs, attend Board and committee meetings and produce accurate minutes.
• Maintain the annual governance calendar and ensure statutory deadlines are met.
• Draft and circulate Board and shareholder resolutions and oversee entity management.

Required profile

• Experience as an in‑house legal counsel with a strong focus on commercial contracts.
• Comfort with corporate governance and board administration responsibilities.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to both business leaders and the Board.
• Strong analytical and risk‑assessment skills.
