Head of People

About the role

The Head of People is a newly created senior HR position within a fast‑growing engineering and manufacturing business. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will join the senior leadership team to shape the people agenda, drive cultural transformation and support the company’s ambitious growth plans across multiple sites in the North of England.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a people strategy that aligns with business objectives and supports high performance.
• Lead HR functions including talent acquisition, learning & development, performance management and employee relations.
• Partner with operational leaders to embed inclusive, engaging cultures across all sites.
• Advise senior leadership on workforce planning, organisational design and change initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and promote best HR practices.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Track record of delivering organisational transformation and culture change.
• Ambition to progress towards a People Director role.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
