Head of PR and Communications

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of PR & Communications to develop and deliver a comprehensive communications strategy for our finance client and its three businesses. Based in Manchester with hybrid working, you will work closely with executive teams to enhance brand reputation and ensure consistent messaging across all internal and external channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated PR and communications strategy across three group companies.
• Lead corporate communications, media relations, reputation management and crisis communications.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, industry influencers and key stakeholders.
• Create press releases, thought‑leadership articles, executive communications, speeches and corporate announcements.
• Oversee internal communications programmes that engage and inform employees.
• Provide media training and support for senior executives.
• Ensure brand messaging consistency across all channels and businesses.
• Monitor media coverage, industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
• Design and manage communication campaigns supporting business growth, recruitment, customer engagement and corporate initiatives.
• Measure and report on PR and communications performance, delivering insights to leadership.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in PR, communications or corporate affairs.
• Successful track record of developing communications strategies within financial services, professional services, fintech or related sectors.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling abilities.
• Experience managing corporate reputation and media relations at senior level.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence executive and board members.
• Experience leading communications across multiple brands or business units (advantageous).
• Confident, proactive, commercially minded with sound judgement.
• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field (preferred).
