Head of Private Client Department

About the role

The firm is seeking an experienced Head of Private Client to lead a growing department in Gloucestershire. This senior solicitor will manage the team while maintaining a personal caseload of high‑value private client work.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and develop the Private Client team, providing mentorship and supervision.
• Maintain a busy caseload covering wills, estate planning, probate, trusts, lasting powers of attorney and inheritance tax advice.
• Drive departmental growth through business development and client relationship management.
• Contribute to the firm’s strategic direction and service offering.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 7 years post‑qualification experience in Private Client work.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a legal team.
• Strong client relationship and business development skills.
• Ability to balance a demanding caseload with team management responsibilities.
