Head of Production

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Production to lead our manufacturing operations in Cambridge. The role will oversee daily production, supply‑chain coordination and continuous‑improvement initiatives within a regulated high‑technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing and production operations.
• Manage production planning, purchasing and supply‑chain coordination.
• Ensure delivery, quality and operational KPI targets are met.
• Drive continuous‑improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Support new product introduction and operational scalability.
• Maintain compliance with quality, ISO and health & safety standards.
• Lead, mentor and develop operational teams.
• Contribute to strategic operational and business planning.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of production planning, supply‑chain and purchasing operations.
• Experience managing operational performance and continuous‑improvement activities.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing KPIs.
• Experience in ISO‑regulated or quality‑driven environments.
• Engineering or technical qualification preferred.
