Head of Project Management & Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a senior leader to head Project Management and Engineering for a fast‑growing automotive engineering business. The role will oversee all customer and R&D projects from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment across engineering, manufacturing, quality and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex automotive and composite engineering programmes.
• Manage a team of Project Engineers, providing coaching and performance oversight.
• Coordinate design, manufacturing, quality and commercial functions to meet project milestones.
• Develop and maintain project controls, schedules and cost estimates.
• Engage with customers and senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• 10‑15+ years of experience in automotive, composites, aerospace or advanced manufacturing.
• Proven leadership of technical engineering teams and project delivery.
• Strong commercial awareness, including quotations and project costing.
• Experience with ERP systems and structured project controls.

Required skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Design tools: CATIA V5, Femap, Altair, HyperWorks.
• ERP system usage.
