Head of Risk

About the role

Keyrock is looking for a Head of Risk to own and develop the firm’s risk function end‑to‑end. This senior leadership position has direct accountability for designing, implementing and enforcing a firm‑wide risk framework across all activities, spanning both traditional finance and digital assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a quantitative risk framework grounded in modern risk theory, including market, credit, liquidity and systemic risk modelling.
• Co‑design and implement the firm‑wide risk management system with the COO and CIO, covering data architecture, real‑time risk aggregation and reporting infrastructure.
• Build an integrated risk view across centralized and decentralized venues, addressing exchange, counterparty, smart‑contract, collateral and liquidity fragmentation risks.
• Define and apply advanced risk metrics such as VaR, Expected Shortfall, stress scenarios, liquidity‑adjusted risk and concentration risk across trading, treasury and investment activities.
• Translate traditional financial risk methodologies into crypto‑native environments, adapting models for 24/7 markets, fragmented liquidity and new failure modes like oracle and protocol risk.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in quantitative risk management with hands‑on experience in market, credit and liquidity risk modelling.
• Proven ability to design and implement risk models, including tail‑risk estimation, scenario analysis and dependence modelling across asset classes.
• Experience designing firm‑wide risk systems and collaborating with technology and operations leaders to build scalable infrastructure.
• Hybrid experience at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets, understanding differences in market structure and risk transmission.
• Practical knowledge of crypto‑specific risks such as exchange/custodian risk, smart‑contract risk, protocol risk and on‑chain collateral management.
