Head of Security

About the role

Praxis is creating a dedicated Head of Security role for St Enoch, one of Glasgow’s busiest city‑centre retail destinations. The successful candidate will own the entire security function, lead an established team and shape security strategy across the 1 million sq ft centre.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop 3–4 Security Managers and the wider security team.
• Set and deliver the centre’s security strategy, managing risk, crime prevention, incidents and emergency preparedness.
• Oversee counter‑terrorism preparedness and compliance with Martyn’s Law.
• Build strong relationships with Police Scotland, Glasgow City Council, emergency services and key stakeholders.
• Manage contractors, security systems, budgets and performance.
• Work closely with tenants and centre management, using operational insight and data to continuously improve standards.
• Maintain a visible and professional presence across the centre.

Required profile

• Proven security leadership experience in large‑scale, high‑footfall environments such as shopping centres, stadiums or transport hubs.
• Experience managing large operational teams and security managers.
• Strong knowledge of risk, incidents, crime prevention and emergency response.
• Experience working with police, emergency services and external stakeholders.
• Understanding of counter‑terrorism legislation and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
