Head of Talent

About the role

Orbital is building an AI platform for real‑estate legal work and is expanding its go‑to‑market in the US. As Head of Talent you will own the end‑to‑end hiring strategy for the UK and US, turning a specialist TA function into a permanent, high‑impact in‑house team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the company‑wide hiring plan together with the CEO, COO and CRO.
• Lead and develop a precision talent team across the US and UK, coaching recruiters to a high‑impact standard.
• Set and run search‑led hiring methods, personally handling senior or high‑impact searches.
• Maintain rigorous forecasting, pipeline reviews and accurate ATS data.

Required profile

• Proven track record scaling a talent function in a VC‑backed tech scale‑up (≈100‑300 headcount).
• Experience with low‑volume, high‑calibre hiring and executive search for GTM and engineering roles in the UK and US.
• Ability to partner as a peer with commercial, technical and executive leaders (CRO, CTO, COO, CEO).
• Demonstrated operational rigour with accurate forecasts and pipeline management.

Required skills

• Executive search craft: market mapping, multi‑touch engagement, assessment and closing.
• AI literacy: integrating AI tools into talent acquisition workflows.
• Experience running distributed recruiting teams across US and UK time zones.
