Head of Transactional Finance (London, Hybrid)

About the role

A distinguished housing association is seeking a Head of Transactional Finance to lead its AP and AR functions during a critical transformation period. The role is based in London with a hybrid working pattern (2 days on‑site per week) and offers a six‑to‑nine‑month contract starting as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
• Clear existing transactional backlogs and ensure accurate reconciliations.
• Improve processes and systems, introducing structure to a complex finance environment.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and deliver regular financial reporting.
• Drive operational efficiencies and strengthen internal controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Head of Transactions or a senior transactional finance leader.
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, team management and finance systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through periods of change.
• Track record of reducing backlogs, improving controls and delivering efficiencies.
• Immediate or short‑notice availability for an interim assignment.
