Health and Safety Coordinator – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Health and Safety Coordinator to join a leading structural steel manufacturer in Halifax. The role is split between the factory floor and the office, offering a blend of hands‑on safety work and administrative support, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and in‑house training.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out internal audits and support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and factory safety tours with production staff.
• Assist the Health and Safety Manager in delivering training workshops and maintaining documentation.
• Prepare risk assessments and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, corrective actions and audit findings.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Health and Safety Coordinator or in a similar HSE role within manufacturing.
• Ability to commute to Halifax and work on‑site Monday‑Thursday (7 am‑4 pm) and Friday (7 am‑3 pm).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Proficiency in conducting internal audits and safety inspections.
• Experience preparing risk assessments and safety documentation.
