Health and Safety Management System Lead

About the role

The Health and Safety Management System Lead will design, digitalise and embed the ISO 45001 framework across Witherslack Group’s educational and residential homes. Working remotely from anywhere in the UK, you will travel nationwide to support sites and drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement health and safety policies tailored to care and learning environments.
• Standardise and integrate health and safety practices into daily operations.
• Lead the digital transformation of health and safety processes, moving from paper to centralised platforms.
• Review and update policies, procedures, risk assessments and guidance documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify gaps and develop new procedures.
• Deliver engaging health and safety training and resources.
• Coordinate meetings across schools and homes to assess effectiveness of current arrangements.

Required profile

• Background in education, care or a similar people‑focused sector.
• Experience in health and safety policy development and ISO 45001 implementation.
• Ability to work independently and travel across the UK.
• Strong communication skills for training and stakeholder engagement.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term 12‑month contract
• Salary £36,000‑£44,000 per year (dependent on experience)
