Health & Safety Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Health & Safety Consultant on a 3‑4 month fixed‑term contract to lead compliance improvements across our facilities. You will work closely with site teams to ensure the organisation meets UK HSE regulations and is inspection‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health & safety audits in laboratories, production areas and offices.
• Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions to achieve HSE compliance.
• Review and update policies, SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH documentation.
• Deliver health & safety awareness training and ensure proper use of PPE, signage, fire safety and first aid provisions.
• Manage COSHH and GMP‑compliant handling of chemicals, waste management and housekeeping standards.
• Oversee incident reporting, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action implementation.

Required profile

• Relevant health & safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent).
• Proven experience in health & safety, compliance or audit roles, preferably within regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals or laboratories.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE regulations, COSHH and GMP frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities.
• Highly organised, results‑driven and able to work independently.
