Health & Safety Manager – Chemical & Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional with a chemical/manufacturing background to join a global business in a senior leadership position. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee site HSE, drive quality standards and maintain key accreditations, playing a pivotal role in the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve all areas of QHSE across the site.
• Maintain and establish quality accreditations such as ISO standards.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture throughout the organisation.
• Work as part of the senior management team and manage one direct report.

Required profile

• Proven HSEQ background with experience in COMAH, DSEAR, HAZOP and ISO 14001.
• Relevant industry experience in chemical or manufacturing environments.
• Good knowledge of quality accreditations and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) knowledge.
• DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) expertise.
• HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) methodology.
• ISO 14001 environmental management system familiarity.
