Health & Safety Manager (Part‑Time, 12‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Our client, a leading law firm in London, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager on a part‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term basis to provide maternity cover. The role involves overseeing all health and safety activities, ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage health and safety compliance across the firm and keep policies up to date.
• Record, investigate and report incidents and accidents, producing monthly statistics for senior management.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors on site, ensuring adherence to firm procedures.
• Review, update and create risk assessments, providing practical advice to minimise risks.
• Conduct Display Screen Equipment assessments and maintain fire safety procedures.
• Organise and deliver training for first aiders and fire marshals.
• Handle the central health and safety inbox, responding to queries from across the business.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and build relationships across the firm.
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Available to start at short notice.
