Health Visitor - Children and Families

About the role

The Health Visitor will join the Children and Families service within East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership, delivering statutory health visiting duties for children from the antenatal period to school entry. Working from the Eastwood Health and Care Centre, the role is fully autonomous and accountable for a defined caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, improve and support the wellbeing of children within the assigned caseload.
• Develop, implement and monitor multi‑agency child plans in line with NHS policies and public health objectives.
• Collaborate with professionals, families and external agencies to ensure coordinated delivery of care.
• Delegate, supervise and review work undertaken by team members.
• Use evidence‑based interventions to address identified health needs.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with NMC and national legislation.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and practising within its legal and ethical framework.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a health‑visiting caseload independently.
• Strong collaborative skills to work within multidisciplinary and agency teams.
• Commitment to public health improvement and evidence‑based practice.
