Heating Engineer

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Heating Engineer to join an established business serving Colchester and surrounding areas. This permanent role offers regular working hours, no call‑out rota and a company vehicle, allowing you to focus on servicing, breakdowns and repairs of domestic heating systems.

Key responsibilities

• Service, diagnose and repair domestic gas heating appliances
• Attend boiler breakdowns and identify faults
• Carry out gas tightness testing and safety checks
• Use flue gas analysers and other diagnostic equipment
• Install and replace boilers, radiators and TRVs
• Perform power flushing and general heating maintenance
• Complete occasional plumbing work and record all activities in company systems
• Maintain van stock and deliver excellent customer service
• Carry out oil heating work where qualified

Required profile

• Current domestic gas ACS qualifications
• Strong boiler servicing, breakdown and fault‑finding experience
• Good knowledge of domestic heating systems
• Ability to diagnose faults independently
• Full UK driving licence
• Oil qualifications/experience advantageous

What we offer

• Salary £45,000‑£55,000 per year, dependent on experience
• Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5:00 pm, no call‑out rota
