HGV Class 1 Driver – Container Division

About the role

Join Maritime Transport’s Container Division as an HGV Class 1 driver. You will operate heavy‑goods vehicles on a variety of shift patterns, delivering containers across the UK while enjoying a competitive pay package and extensive benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles to transport containers on assigned routes.
• Perform specialised tasks such as curtain‑side loading, genset handling, splitter operation and ADR cargo movements when required.
• Mentor and support junior drivers as part of the team.
• Maintain vehicle safety standards and comply with all regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years recent C+E / Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid UK HGV licence (C+E) and clean driving record.
• Ability to work selected shift patterns (day, night or tramper).

Required skills

• C+E Class 1 licence.
• Experience with curtain‑side, genset and splitter equipment.
• ADR (hazardous goods) handling knowledge.
• Driver CPC certification (or willingness to obtain).
