HGV Technician – Workshop & Site Role in Bedford

About the role

Join a growing commercial‑vehicle business in Bedford as an HGV Technician. You will work in a modern workshop and travel to customer sites, providing a blend of scheduled maintenance, repairs and occasional roadside assistance for a diverse fleet of heavy goods vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Visit customer premises to complete planned work and respond to occasional breakdown calls.
• Complete job cards and maintenance documentation accurately and safely.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician, mechanic or commercial‑vehicle technician.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Full UK driving licence (Class 2 licence advantageous but not essential).
