Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Braintree

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive school in Braintree from September. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to support teaching and learning across the school and make a positive impact on pupil outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom support and cover lessons as required.
• Lead learning activities and interventions to support whole‑class and individual pupils.
• Assist teachers with planning and delivering curriculum content.
• Maintain strong classroom management and a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with staff to monitor and report on pupil progress.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in a UK school.
• HLTA status or relevant qualifications (desirable).
• Good understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Current safeguarding training (within the last year preferred).
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Required skills

• Classroom management.
• Ability to deliver targeted interventions.
• Strong communication with pupils and staff.
