Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Independent School, Greenwich

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join its Waldorf‑inspired primary community in Greenwich from September 2026. This full‑time role supports classroom teaching, delivers targeted interventions and provides cover for lessons as needed, helping pupils achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist class teachers with planning, assessment and delivery of lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils requiring additional help.
• Deliver intervention sessions and cover whole‑class lessons when required.
• Contribute to the creative, holistic curriculum through storytelling, outdoor learning and artistic activities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date safeguarding records and follow school policies.

Required profile

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year of experience in a UK primary school.
• Recent safeguarding training (within the last year).
• Enthusiasm for a child‑centred, creative approach to education.

Required skills

• Knowledge of primary‑level curriculum and assessment practices.
• Ability to plan and deliver differentiated support.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building with pupils, staff and families.
