Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Sept Start)

About the role

Reed Education is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a welcoming primary school in the Bexley area, starting in September 2026. The role is full‑time and term‑time only, offering the chance to lead lessons, deliver interventions and support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned whole‑class lessons when the class teacher is absent.
• Provide small‑group and one‑to‑one interventions to support pupil progress.
• Assist with assessment, monitoring and reporting of pupil achievement.
• Support pupils with diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and parents to achieve the best outcomes.

Required profile

• Hold HLTA status or have significant experience in a similar role.
• Recent experience working in a primary school setting.
• Strong classroom management and confidence delivering lessons across year groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about inclusive education and supporting children academically and personally.
