Hire Manager – Pump Rental Operations

About the role

Selwood Limited, the UK’s leading pump rental solutions provider, is seeking a Hire Manager to support its Bedford branch. You will coordinate all hire activities, ensuring customer requests are fulfilled efficiently while driving profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule branch transport, manage equipment collections and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation and system paperwork.
• Review re‑hire opportunities to optimise asset utilisation.
• Negotiate hire rates in line with company policies.
• Ensure precise stock recording and preparation for the hire team.
• Liaise with operational teams to avoid duplication and delays.
• Process charges for damages or losses and obtain customer agreement.
• Communicate sales leads to the Sales Team and follow up on dormant accounts.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory experience in a pump rental or similar environment.
• Proven ability to run a busy hire desk in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong organisational and logistical skills.
