History Teacher – Full‑time Secondary School

About the role

The school is a well‑established secondary academy in Croydon, recognised for high academic standards and a supportive learning environment. We are seeking a dedicated History Teacher to join our Humanities team on a full‑time, long‑term basis, starting in September.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess History lessons for KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
• Provide high‑quality instruction that promotes student progress and engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement and intervene where necessary.
• Contribute to the wider school community, including departmental meetings and extracurricular activities.
• Potentially teach KS5, depending on experience.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge in History.
• Experience teaching at KS3 and KS4 levels.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Willingness to obtain a DBS check if not already held.
